HOW TO GET FROM OAXACA AIRPORT TO DOWNTOWN

    Taxi from the airport:
Traveling in the private taxis of the Oaxaca airport is, without a doubt, the most comfortable and fastest option there is to transport from one place to another, especially if you load with enough luggage or you arrived very tired of your trip. If you decide to do so, we warn you that this is the most expensive option. Check at the box office for options.

    Transport applications:
This is certainly not an option since you should know that there is no Uber in Oaxaca or any other transportation service that functions with apps, such as Cabify, Didi, Lyft or Beat. If what you want is to find a cheaper alternative than an airport taxi check the following options:

    Shuttle bus o transfer
The collective service of the airport is one of the most economical options. Check directly at the ticket offices what route they will take.

    Collective taxis
Walking outside the airport you can find collective taxis, that is, they carry several passengers at once. Identify them because they are wine and white taxis. They cost MXN $10 to $15 and these take you to the city center. They leave you on Bustamante and Mina street, just three blocks from the Zócalo de Oaxaca.

    HOW TO ARRIVE BY LAND

The capital of the State is the City of Oaxaca, located in the Central Valleys approximately 325 miles southeast of Mexico City. There are three highways from Mexico City the Panamerican (190), Highway 131 and the new Super Toll Highway (135D). Although the distance is about the same, the driving time via the first two is nearly double that of the Super Highway average ten hours versus five on the toll road. The reason for the difference is that the first two take "natural" routes through the mountains while the toll road was blasted out where necessary to make a route with fewer curves which permits high speed driving.

There are many bus services that connect Mexico City to Oaxaca, most through the toll road with a transit time of six hours. The main transportation line is Grupo ADO, which operates almost throughout the Southeast of Mexico.
